NASCAR race teams license home and garage storage market leader Slide-Lok for growth in 2008 and beyond
Phoenix, AZ – September 17, 2007 – With NASCAR racing currently rated the number one spectator sport in the US and with over 75 million fans, the timing couldn't be better for home and garage storage market leader Slide-Lok to gain access to the fiercely loyal NASCAR racing audience.
Slide-Lok has announced the signing of licensing agreements with top drivers who participate in NASCAR-sanctioned events to introduce and market the newly developed "Slide-Lok Racing Garage" product line. The new Slide-Lok Racing Garage line will feature the names, numbers, color schemes and signature logos of the top drivers who participate in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series integrated into Slide-Lok's patented, plywood garage cabinets, Slat-Wall systems and inlaid into Slide-Lok's garage floor coating. The Slide-Lok garage floor coating system is 4x stronger than epoxy floor coatings and can be applied in as little as one day.
Slide-Lok, the garage industry's leading brand, has made a good match in partnering its superior, durable, high-quality product with the emotionally charged, rugged, and high-performance NASCAR racing brands.
Slide-Lok president, Brian Strayer stated, "We've spent the better part of the past year looking at opportunities to expand our already existing brand leadership through co-branding opportunities and the development of new market segments. We're very excited about the partnership with the NASCAR teams and excellent fit between our home and garage organization business and the NASCAR industry's fan demographics."
Slide-Lok marketing director Jason Jantzen remarked, "NASCAR racing's 75 million fans follow the sport over a ten-month racing season, giving Slide-Lok a strong opportunity to expand our market visibility. Our agreement with the top drivers in the sport provides a strong point of differentiation for Slide-Lok."
In separate agreements, Slide-Lok has also acquired licensing property rights from NASCAR as a secondary brand and several of the top racing teams, covering more than a dozen of the sport's top drivers. Announcements related to these agreements will follow in the coming months.
Blake Davidson, managing director of licensed products for NASCAR, added, "NASCAR racing fans are known to have a strong loyalty to products associated with our sport. We see a good opportunity to partner with Slide-Lok for NASCAR racing products geared to the garage space."
The new Slide-Lok Racing Garage offering will be available to consumers in early 2008; and with NASCAR-sanctioned races often drawing larger crowds than the Super Bowl, NBA Finals games, and World Series games combined, the garage just got a whole lot bigger.
